The Housing and Welfare Research Network brings together researchers, doctoral students, practitioners, and other stakeholders who work with or have an interest in the social dimensions of housing and housing provision. The network comprises around 200 members from universities, organisations, and other institutions in Sweden and internationally.
The network serves as a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration on contemporary housing and welfare issues. Through seminars, presentations, and discussions, we create opportunities for researchers and practitioners to meet, share experiences, and develop new collaborations. Our members represent a broad range of perspectives and expertise. Together, they contribute to a deeper understanding of current challenges related to housing provision, segregation, homelessness, poverty, and other issues at the intersection of housing and welfare.
The network seeks to promote research and knowledge on how changes in housing markets affect people’s living conditions and broader societal development. Particular attention is given to issues of social sustainability, inequalities in housing markets, and the conditions for ensuring secure and inclusive housing provision.
The Housing and Welfare Research Network is organised by the research group Studies in Housing and Welfare (SBV) and the Institute for Urban Research (IUR) at Malmö University.
